Different Image Types

There are several types of image types such as:

PNG (Portable Network Graphics)- The purpose of which this format of image was created to improve and replace te ever so popular "GIF" format. PNG images also usually have quite a high quality of colour depth.


JPEG - A jpeg image is basically a compressed image which is small in size yet the quality is still deemed okay. Compared to other image formats such as TIF and RAW, jpeg images are able to open very quickly.

GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)- This format of an image supports up to 8 bits per pixel and has up to 256 different colours. Since the colour range isn't that great, GIF isn't suitable for reproducing colour but it's suitable for images with few distinct colours.

JPEG is one of the best formats to upload on the internet as it's fast and on the whole; PNG is usually better than the GIF format.

Lossy compression is a data encoding method. This method is used to compress a variety of multimedia data such as pictures, audio and video. In order to compress an image, some of it's data needs to be discarded.

By completing this image of me getting shot by an animated character, I have learnt a variety of skills. Some of which include pathing an image and learning how to bend the lines while pathing. I found it interesting how accurately you could path an image although I would still prefer the magnetic lasso tool.

Hi I'm Chiu Wei Teo.
The things I like to do during my free time is to watch anime, read japanese graphic novels and to bake bread. I like doing lots of Japanese activities because I have a lot of interest in the language and culture. As for bread, I just love the satisfation of successfully baking a loaf of bread after a few hours of work.
My favourite subject in school is probably Japanese as I have lots of friends and Japanese is fun :D
As for my AFL perspectives, i support Carlton cause their awesome.
